28/01/15 - An animated Turnaround.

Hi folks. Today, my wonderful boyfriend pointed out that, for a side on platformer game, I didn't have a side view. I done a dumb.

So, I've taken it one further, and I've turned it into a turnaround .gif, with all the frames I was missing before.

It's a little grainy, I have no idea how to fix that. I've heard it's something to do with the colours that a .gif can handle. If you know how to fix it, please let me know! Enjoy!

Ps. She must get pretty dizzy spinning around all day.

26/1/15 - Bad guys and a bonus

Today I've been working on some bad guys. I've been heavily inspired by kitchen appliances for some reason, and today's post is about a bomb-microwave. It goes tssssst-PING! BOOOOOOM!

Another key influence is the Dungeon Defenders Kobolds, and Dyson Ball Vacuum cleaners for ease of robotic movement.

Also! Look what came in the post today! I'm chuffed to bits. I got these from Sense Creative, who did them wonderfully. Thanks, folks!

24/1/15 - Night-time scenery revised

Some of you might remember this from a previous post.

So I've revised this and put it into Illustrator to make this one! I'm missing the texture, but I really quite like the way it looks. Plus, I can make it any size I want. I might find something nice to overlay on the top.

22/1/15 - Princess Pants Turnaround

Here's my turnaround for Princess Pants. It was first sketched out in Photoshop, and finished in Illustrator for that nice finish.

Lastly, I'd like to throw a few names out there, my friend Bethan Wegener, who has weekly sketches and has lovely illustrations, James Stafford, a stop-mo animator working on his film, and Julia Young, a 2D animator working on her film with Josh Cranton

Bethan, James and Julia are always updating, so if you're finding my bi-daily blog to be too long in between post, go check out these lovely people and see their progress on their personal work.

19/1/15 - Businessy Things

Hi folks. Today, I'm sharing with you what I've done for my business module. Here are my business cards, I'm working on getting them printed in a nice shape. Hopefully, I'll be able to send them out in the next week or so.

That's the back, and the front!

The QR code there links straight back here. No need to test it!

15/1/15 - Horrible Weather

Hi folks, another Illustrator post from me!
I've been inspired by the cold weather and simple design. Today feels like the kind of day where you don't take off your coat before you drink your tea.
Made in Adobe Illustrator.

14/1/15 - Some changes

Hello, all!

You might have noticed that my blog looks a whole lot different now. I'm keeping it in line with the way my business cards look to keep that nice theme going!

That's pretty much eaten my art time up today. I can't get the buttons working for twitter/pinterest or facebook, so that's a whole lot of time learning. I won't say wasted, because I did learn something from it, even if the thing I learnt was 'I can't code'.

Here's a quick sketch of Callum playing Hearthstone in his dressing gown. It's late and he kept moving like a wriggly bug.

11/01/15 - A break from Princess Pants and more photoshop

I've been doing assorted Princess Pants stuff today when I've not been at work.
Instead of being productive on my game, I've made a portrait thing instead to practice my skills with photoshop. Truthfully, I've only started doing it because I made a very tasteful piece of art that will not be uploaded. A stress on the tasteful, and it's about the only thing I've liked since I made a flukey one off nice picture in college.

I'm not sure who it's supposed to be, but I've given her my sister's staple-dots features found by her left eye. I've always called them her staple dots, she looked like she was stapled as a kid. Now she's older, they've grown apart. :c

I made it in blue, then added a pink/purple overlay on the lighten setting.

10/01 - Happy New Year!

I'm off from hiatus, I took a little time for myself this month for Christmas and New Years. Everything was a bit hectic. I'm not doing brilliantly with a 365 daily blog, so this will probably be changed to a 365 'every-other' daily blog.

Without further adieu, here's today's post!

It's a non vector background in photoshop for Princess Pants.

I've been testing different brushes, I really like the textures achieved by not sticking to the soft/hard brushes, The colour pallet was really nice to work with too.
